Credit Committee

Richard Charrington

Richard has extensive commodity trading and financing experience in Europe and emerging markets, having worked since 1980 at C. Czarnikow, Mindo Resources and Creditanstalt Bankverien Trade finance.

In 1992, Richard was the Founding Director of Ceres Capital International, which specialises in South African debt/equity conversions and corporate restructurings. Ceres has successfully restructured US$ 1.5bn of RSA moratorium debt. In 1997, Richard established and ran an Emerging Market Sovereign Debt Fund for Rand Merchant Bank of South Africa. The fund grew substantially up until 2001 when it was securitised in a US$ 350mn CDO by Deutsche Bank.

Richard then established and ran a Ceres Capital International’s joint venture with Mettle in 1998. He managed the acquisition of Greenwich Securities through the London office. In 2005 he established and ran a joint venture between Ceres Capital International and Mettle called Serec Investments Pty Ltd. Since 2005 Serec successfully teamed up with Morgan Stanley and acted as principal in some ZAR 5bn of acquisitions and Black Empowerment transactions. During 2005 Richard also established and runs a joint Venture with the Bravura group of companies.

He currently sits on the Mauritian boards of several JSE listed companies and advises on their international operations and expansion. In 2014, Richard advised, structured and executed the $20m takeover of Xceed Resources, an ASX listed Company, by Keaton Mining (a company listed on the JSE).

Constantin de Grivel

Constantin holds a MSc in Civil Engineering from Ecole Speciale des Travaux Publics in Paris and a M.A in Finance from Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris. As from 2006 he spent 4 years with JPMorgan in London in the European Derivatives Corporate Group where he was responsible for structuring and marketing derivative products for both European corporates and HNW individuals. Constantin joined AXYS in 2010 for the development of the business within the region and for the structuring of new financial products. He is currently the Managing Director of AXYS Investments Partners Ltd.

Louis Lallia

Louis holds a B.A in Modern Literature from the Université de la Sorbonne-Nouvelle and is an Alumni of l’Institut des Etudes Politiques de Paris from which he holds an M.A in Finance and Strategy. Louis started his career in 2005 as an Investment Analyst with Silchester International Investors, a London based Long Term Equity Investment Fund with over $20bn under management. He moved to Mauritius in 2009 and set up the Front Office in the region for Plurigestion S.A., a Swiss-based Financial Advisory firm with some $2bn under management. Louis joined AXYS in 2012 and is responsible for the international development of the Group.

Jesse Koti

Jesse has relevant experience in originating, structuring and exiting investments. He has spent ten years in Europe where he worked for Merrill Lynch as a buyside portfolio manager investing across the asset class spectrum. He has unique experience in financial institutions, debt, quasi debt and equity.

Jesse moved to Africa to setup KDT Investment Advisors, an asset management company that grew within two years to have $200 Mn assets under management. Jesse, an INSEAD MBA, has been with Four Oaks since 2018.
